Among our 150 members (as of May 2021) our chapter currently has Patriots from all 13 original colonies: Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, and Virginia. We have one Patriot who served in both New Hampshire & Vermont. Vermont is not considered one of the original thirteen colonies, it was disputed territory claimed by both New York & New Hampshire. New Hampshire ceded claims in 1782, prior to the Constitutional Convention. However, New York, at the time of the Constitutional Convention, still claimed sovereignty over the territory of Vermont and did not cede those claims until 1791, paving the way for Vermont to become the 14th state, and the first admitted to the union under the auspices of the Constitution.
